Add Gift

add_gift
Full Description

Use this when the authenticated user wants to add a product from an online store to one of their MyRegistry gift lists. Requires productUrl. Title and price are strongly recommended — send them whenever the page exposes them. The product page is also read as a fallback, but some retailers cannot be read, and then your values are all the gift has. Omit a field you could not find rather than sending an empty title or a price of 0. The image always comes from the page. If registryId is omitted, the currently active gift list is used; call get_active_gift_list if the target is unclear. Do not use this to search for products, compare prices, purchase items, reserve gifts, or modify gifts already on a list.

Parameters (1 required)
Required
requestobject

Get Active Gift List

get_active_gift_list
Full Description

Use this when the user asks which MyRegistry gift list is currently selected as the default target for adding gifts. Do not use this to list all gift lists; use get_my_gift_lists. Do not use this to show gifts on the list; use list_gifts_registry.

Get Api Info

get_api_info
Full Description

Gets the API information.

Get My Gift Lists

get_my_gift_lists
Full Description

Use this when the authenticated user wants to see, choose, or manage their own MyRegistry gift lists. Returns each gift list's RegistryId, title, type, and whether it is currently active. Do not use this to search for other people's public registries; use search_registries instead.

Get Registry

get_registry
Full Description

Use this when the user wants details about a specific MyRegistry registry and you already have its RegistryId. Returns registry-level information such as title, type, owner/registrant details, and visibility fields. Some registries are protected by a Visitor Password: if this tool reports that one is needed or incorrect, ask the user for it and call the tool again with visitorPassword. Never guess a password and never reuse one from a different registry. Do not use this to list gifts/items; use list_gifts_registry.

Parameters (1 required, 1 optional)
Required
registryIdinteger

The numeric RegistryId of the registry to retrieve, for example 1234567.

Optional
visitorPasswordstring/null

Optional. The Visitor Password for this registry, supplied by the user. Only send a password the user gave you for this registry; omit it otherwise.

Default: null

List Gifts Registry

list_gifts_registry
Full Description

Use this when the user wants to view the gifts/items on a specific MyRegistry registry or gift list and you already have its RegistryId.

This tool supports filtering the gifts returned to the UI.

Purchase filtering (purchaseStatus):

  • purchased: gifts that have been bought, fully or partially.
  • unpurchased: gifts with no purchases at all.
  • available: gifts that can still be bought, including partially

purchased gifts; gifts marked unavailable are excluded. Use this for "what hasn't been bought yet" or "what can I still buy".

  • Omit purchaseStatus to return gifts in any purchase state.

Favorite filtering:

  • favorite=true: return favorite gifts only.
  • favorite=false: return non-favorite gifts only.
  • Omit favorite to return both favorite and non-favorite gifts.

Price filtering:

  • minPrice: return gifts at or above this price.
  • maxPrice: return gifts at or below this price.
  • Both can be supplied to return a price range.

Multiple filters can be combined. All supplied filters are applied together.

When any filter is applied, only product gifts are returned; cash gifts and linked registries are excluded.

If no gifts match the filters, tell the user that nothing matched. Do not suggest or list other gifts instead.

Omit all filters to show the full gift list, including cash gifts and linked registries.

Use this tool again whenever the user changes or adds a gift filter; do not rely on previously returned gifts to apply the new filter. Example requests: "show purchased gifts only", "what hasn't been bought yet", "only favorites", "gifts under $50", "between $20 and $100".

Some gift lists are protected by a Visitor Password. If this tool reports that one is needed or incorrect, ask the user for it and call the tool again with visitorPassword. Never guess a password and never reuse one from a different registry.

Do not use this to find registries by name; use search_registries first. Do not use this to get only registry profile details; use get_registry.

The gifts are rendered as an interactive gift list widget. Do not re-list the gifts in your text response.

Parameters (1 required, 5 optional)
Required
registryIdinteger

The numeric RegistryId of the registry whose gifts to list, for example 1234567.

Optional

Default: null
maxPricenumber/null

Default: null
minPricenumber/null

Optional. Only gifts whose current price (sale price when on sale) is greater than or equal to this amount, in the gifts' currency. Use for "over" / "at least" requests.

Default: null
purchaseStatusstring/null

Optional. "purchased" = gifts bought fully or partially. "unpurchased" = gifts with no purchases at all. "available" = gifts that can still be bought, including partially purchased gifts but not gifts marked unavailable. Omit to include every purchase state.

Default: null
visitorPasswordstring/null

Optional. The Visitor Password for this gift list, supplied by the user. Only send a password the user gave you for this registry; omit it otherwise.

Default: null

Search Registries

search_registries
Full Description

Use this when the user wants to find public MyRegistry registries or gift lists by registrant, owner, couple, organization, or business name. Do not use this for the authenticated user's own gift lists; use get_my_gift_lists instead. Do not use this when you already have a RegistryId; use get_registry or list_gifts_registry. The results are rendered as an interactive list widget — do NOT re-list the registries in your text reply; just acknowledge briefly or ask which one the user wants to open.

Parameters (1 required)
Required
requestobject

set_active_gift_list
Full Description

Use this when the authenticated user wants to change their default active gift list. This updates their account-wide default (affecting web, mobile, and other sessions), not just this ChatGPT conversation. Call get_my_gift_lists first if the user has not provided a RegistryId. Do not use this to add, remove, or edit gifts.

Parameters (1 required)
Required
registryIdinteger

The RegistryId of one of the authenticated user's gift lists, for example 1234567. Use get_my_gift_lists to find available RegistryIds.
